CAT 6

Ethernet CAT 6 pinouts: straight-through vs. crossover wiring.

Straight-Through (T568B both ends)

Standard cable for PC-to-switch, PC-to-router, or any device-to-switch/router run. Modern auto-MDI-X ports also make this work fine for switch-to-switch or PC-to-PC links, which is why straight-through has become the near-universal default.

Crossover (T568A one end, T568B the other)

Needed for a direct PC-to-PC or switch-to-switch link on older hardware without auto-MDI-X.
